Harmful bacteria and acid build-up on teeth can lead to tooth decay. We will remove the decay and restore the area with a tooth colored filling. Fillings can be used to repair small cracks or small fractures and teeth that have been worn down due to grinding and clenching habits. However, in more severe cases a crown may be required to restore these types of teeth.
When decay is left untreated, it can worsen, causing further infection and even more severe pain. The infected tooth may eventually require a crown, root canal or extraction if not addressed when the decay is first noted during your exam.
We can help you decide whether composite resin fillings are right for you.
You can decrease your risk of cavities and other dental diseases by:
- Brushing your teeth twice a day using fluoride toothpaste.
- Flossing daily.
- Keeping up with regular professional cleanings.
